Kansainvälisyys

There have been international projects and activities in our school since the year 2008. We have done three multi-school Comenius projects and two student exchanges (IPM), all funded by the EU.

We have also received assistant teachers from abroad and made several Physics trips to Switzerland to visit CERN to see the particle accelerator there.

There have been partner schools from Estonia, France, Germany, Holland, Iceland, Ireland, Italy, Poland, Portugal, Spain, Turkey and the UK.

In the school year 2015-2016 our school received EU funding for a new Erasmus+ KA1 project for school staff, and so the teachers of our school had a chance to participate in international courses and have a job shadowing period abroad. You can read about their experiences in our school’s international affairs blog.

In 2016 - 2018 we had an Erasmus+ KA2  – strategic partnerships project called R.E.S.P.E.C.T. The aim was to research and exchange good practises in inclusive education and tackle problems such as bullying, absenteeism, discrimination and early school leaving. Both teachers and students were involved in the project. The project coordinator was IES Valsequillo in Gran Canaria, and the other participants were schools from Germany, Greece, Iceland and Poland.

There have been several teachers from abroad, especially Spain, visiting our school as part of their Erasmus+ job shadowing projects.

In the autumn 2019 we started another two-year Erasmus+ KA2 project with the same schools as in the previous project. The project is called Fit for Life and our aim is to support the health and well-being of young people with a focus on healthy nutrition, culture, sports and mental health, being a responsible citizen and the chances and risks of modern media.

You can follow the project in our blog!
